Female Officer Beaten Mercilessly In The Open by Police DPO

Oga police why na? A Divisional Police Officer in charge of Ikenne Division of Ogun State, Patrick Onwu, went wild and beat a female traffic officer to coma for allegedly stopping his private vehicle.

The incident happened on Monday. The DPO, who was on mufti while he disobeyed the traffic law, was said to have driven into a nearby filling station, parked and changed into his police uniform to prove to the lady that she was challenging a senior officer.

He came back, pounced on the female traffic warden, Inspector Anifat Bello, with serious beatings.

The lady was discharging her official duty at the NNPC junction on IBB Boulevard way. The traffic warden, Inspector Anifat, have been severally honoured for her dedication to duty, was badly beaten.

She was reportedly beaten to stupor by the senior officer who was coming into Abeokuta from Sagamu end of the expressway.

He dealt with the female officer for having the guts to stop his private vehicle for alleged traffic offence.

It will be recalled that former President Olusegun Obasanjo had, during a familarization visit of Ogun State police commissioner, Abdulmajid Ali, recommended the same traffic officer for a national honour.

When contacted the state Police PRO, Muyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the incident and said the Commissioner of Police, was unhappy with the DPO and had directed that the matter be investigated.

He said: “The woman traffic officer has reported the matter to the CP and he has directed that the matter be thoroughly investigated. The CP was not happy when the woman came with a swollen face. If the allegation is true, I am very sure the CP will know what to do.”
